Literally Does It All
You could say art is in Lindsey’s DNA. As a child, she passionately pursued an artistic life, often digging through the trash to find treasures to integrate into her mixed media art projects. As her skills evolved, she discovered art in the everyday objects we put to good use. Applying art to practical elements parallels her work for Estland — designing stunning websites and marketing collateral that serves a functional purpose for our valued clients.
Lindsey grew up in Stuarts Draft, VA, and loves calling the Shenandoah Valley home. She didn’t travel far for college, channeling her artistic interests into a graphic design degree from James Madison University. After graduating, Lindsey worked as a graphic designer and content creator for Massanutten Resort and Bridgewater College. During that time, she honed her skills as she applied them to her professional career, ultimately moving on to serve as Assistant Director of JMU Student Affairs Communications and Marketing. While at JMU, she guided over 75 student employees in developing comprehensive marketing campaigns using graphic design, video, photography and content writing. While she loved mentoring students, she missed flexing her creative muscles with hands-on design work. Estland couldn’t be more grateful that she made the switch!
Lindsey is cross-dominant, meaning she uses her left hand for some things and her right hand for others. This curious characteristic reinforces Lindsey’s ability to access her artistic and analytic sides equally, applying both to every project she works on. It makes her a persistent editor and an inspiring designer that Estland frequently turns to.
It can be hard for clients to articulate what they want, so I listen carefully, picking up on certain cues and language to translate their words into design.
In addition to design, Lindsey also creates compelling content for websites, blogs, newsletters and social media. Her mother was a teacher, so Lindsey is a stickler for well-structured, grammatically sound sentences. In her free time, you can find Lindsey kayaking down the Shenandoah River with her husband and young daughter.
