Never Met a Story He Couldn’t Tell

John Krampf is the perfect cross between John Candy and John Grisham. He’s fun and friendly, and he captivates people with his words. (His name is also John—so it works.)

John hails from America’s Dairyland, Wisconsin, where he still lives today with his wife and kids. Growing up on the South Side of Milwaukee, he never met a sport he didn’t love. But more than just the games, he loved the competition and camaraderie with his teammates. He even dreamed of becoming a famous sports broadcaster like Al Michaels or Bob Uecker.

That’s until he was introduced to the marketing world while working at a local burger joint in high school. One day, the owner mentioned plans to add a new burger to the menu and asked if anyone had name ideas. Most teenagers would’ve shrugged it off—but not John. He went home and started brainstorming like it was a Super Bowl ad pitch. He came back with a full list of names and reasons behind each one, ready to sell his ideas. Unfortunately, his boss went a different direction—but that didn’t faze John. He was hooked.

John took his love of storytelling to the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater (also known—affectionately—as the Harvard of Walworth County), where he earned a degree in Advertising with a minor in Marketing. Since then, John has spent his entire career in advertising, marketing and corporate communications, working everywhere from Harley-Davidson corporate to local and national ad agencies. John thrives at connecting with audiences and has over 20 years of experience doing just that across fully integrated advertising campaigns, long-form marketing pieces, branding initiatives, digital platforms and extensive video work.

As SEO Content Manager at Estland, John brings strategy, ideas and energy to the table that make brands grow, services sell and products move. Whether it’s a campaign, a webpage or a video script, he helps clients figure out what they want to say—exactly how they want to say it. He’s a bit of a marketing unicorn because he’s a professional writer who also understands the intricacies of SEO and data analytics. He brings those two worlds together to help Estland’s clients stand out from their competition.

“

I love connecting with an audience by telling a good story.

In his spare time, John loves goofing off with his kids and watching sports. Outside of those main passions, he also likes to dive into documentaries, squeeze in date nights with his wife and collect baseball cards with his son. He also cooks up a mean pot of soup—a skill that helps him survive those endless Wisconsin winters.
