Eric Good first contacted Estland to explore new names, branding, web design and full-spectrum marketing for his excavating, grading and concrete business. For 25 years, GoodEx was Good’s Services, a name Eric chose early in his business venture because it allowed him to expand his service offering over time. Sounds like a good idea, right? Here was the problem — the name didn’t communicate the type or breadth of his services. Good’s Services had a strong reputation and was considered a premier excavating company in our area, but they needed outside developers to understand that as much as the locals.
We channeled our creativity into several unique business names that capitalized on Eric’s last name and started to inform consumers of his services. Four logo renditions, a new website, custom videography, and photography showcase the GoodEx difference to their local community and beyond.
Many excavating companies take a literal approach to their visual identity, choosing logos with large pieces of equipment, like excavators and backhoes. We took a more subtle approach to distinguish GoodEx from the competition. Influenced by their brand pillars of quality, dependability and attention to detail, we crafted four logo options for Eric to consider. He chose a large G with the chamfered edges you typically see in machinery. We abstracted the G into four sections to evoke the silhouette of excavation buckets. It communicates their services and branding in a modern and thoughtful way that will work for years.
User experience (UX) is always a top priority when we design and develop a new website. High-quality content writing is critical, especially when trying to appeal to educated investors choosing an excavation company for their next project. Estland crafted succinct web content that communicates the GoodEx difference while boosting their search engine results through carefully placed keywords. A streamlined user interface with quick-fill forms makes it easy for clients to understand their services and get in touch to schedule a consultation.
For Eric Good, digging in the dirt is a way of life, and he needed others to understand his attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Nothing does that better and faster than a testimonial-style brand video that showcases their team and clients speaking about what it’s like to work with GoodEx. That, combined with custom photography, makes their website at least 35% more likely to convert potential clients.
