Arts Council of the Valley brings the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities together through the arts. To better support their mission, they needed an updated web design to showcase their programs and expand their reach. That’s where Estland stepped in to help.
The goal? A website that would promote grants, art exhibitions, artist members and events like First Fridays and serve as a central resource hub for local arts.
First, our design team took visual inspiration from the Art Council’s logo and incorporated paint splatters and round elements throughout the web design. Its warm color palette and vibrant visuals reflect the creativity and energy of the local arts community. (Be sure to hover over the site’s buttons for a fun surprise!)
Next, we scheduled on-site photo and video shoots where Estland’s photographer captured real moments of creativity and the arts community in action. The high-quality visuals bring the arts to life on the website, adding emotion to enhance the stories shared on each page.
Finally, Estland’s web developers built the site, ensuring a smooth user experience with fast load times and intuitive navigation. Responsive design elements make it easy to explore opportunities across all devices.

One highlight of this project was creating “Opening Doors: The Art of Inclusion,” a 20-minute documentary in partnership with The Arc of Harrisonburg & Rockingham. This documentary celebrates themes of acceptance, unity and belonging.
Estland believes in using our expertise to create a positive, lasting impact on the communities we serve—especially when it comes to supporting the arts.
That’s why we proudly donated over $30,000 of in-kind services to this project, reinforcing our commitment to supporting local nonprofits.
Having the opportunity to help Arts Council of the Valley revitalize their website was an absolute honor! Finding ways to not only highlight their impactful grants and events but also to provide a platform to acknowledge the artists and creatives that make our community so unique made this project that much more impactful.
