The Person Keeping It All Moving: Lauren Stroop

A lot has changed since Lauren Stroop joined Estland as a Marketing Assistant.
Over the past year, she’s become a trusted resource for both our clients and our team, helping keep projects organized and marketing initiatives on track. Recently promoted to Account Manager, Lauren now plays an even greater role in guiding clients through every step of the marketing process.

John Krampf chatted with Lauren about her new role, concerts, drag racing, Olivia’s unwavering stare and what she’s learned during her first year at Estland.

Q&A

Last time we talked, your dog, Olivia, was making sure you were awake every morning around 5:30. Is she still running the household?

Oh my gosh, absolutely. My alarm is actually set for 5:45, but by 5:30 she’s already staring at me. You just know she’s there. Then she’ll start pawing at me until I finally get up.

It’s amazing how powerful that stare can be.

It really is. She does not give up.

I know you’re a big concert goer. Have you been to any good shows lately?

I went to Warped Tour a couple of weeks ago, and it was amazing. I got to see some bucket list bands like Taking Back Sunday and Third Eye Blind.

Last time we talked, racing was becoming a pretty big part of your weekends. Is that still the case?

Concerts trump racing. Dog trumps all.

I feel like that sums you up pretty well.

It really does. My husband races cars throughout the season, so we’re still at the track a lot.

So… have you gotten behind the wheel yet?

Not yet. It’s not completely off the table, but the older I get, the less interested I am in taking risks.

We’ll have to get Estland to sponsor your car.

If Estland would sponsor it, then I would race it. I’m sure Austin and Lindsey would have fun designing that.

I feel like that sums you up pretty well.

It really does. My husband races cars throughout the season, so we’re still at the track a lot.

Speaking of Estland, you’ve been here for over a year. Since joining as a Marketing Assistant, what has surprised you most about your growth into the Account Manager role?

How naturally my role evolved from Marketing Assistant to Account Manager during my first year with Estland. The company provides an environment where responsibilities expand based on individual strengths, initiative and business needs. That flexibility has allowed me to continuously learn and take on new challenges.

What excites you most about stepping into this new role?

The opportunity to help clients solve challenges and achieve their goals through strategic planning and execution. I enjoy taking a client’s pain points or objectives and collaborating with our team to execute a marketing plan that would not have been possible for the client to manage on their own.

A lot of your job involves balancing multiple projects at once. How do you keep everything organized?

My approach is to rely on a structured scheduling system where every task, whether it requires several days of work or just a few minutes, is documented and assigned on the calendar. By maintaining a clear view of all projects and commitments, I can effectively prioritize work and ensure projects continue moving forward.

“It often feels like solving a puzzle to create the most effective plan while keeping projects moving forward.”

Lauren Stroop, Account Manager, Estland
One thing you’ve gotten to do over the past year is visit a lot more clients in person. Has there been one experience that really stands out?

One of my favorite experiences was visiting Grand Caverns. Growing up around here, I had probably been there on a field trip years ago, but getting to tour it with the team and hear their passion for what they do gave me a completely different appreciation for it.

As you’ve taken on more responsibility, what’s a skill you’ve developed that you’re particularly proud of?

One area I have been developing is my project and calendar management skills. Taking ownership of team scheduling over the past few months has given me the opportunity to improve workflow efficiency and ensure that everyone begins their day with clear priorities and a well-defined plan. I enjoy the challenge of coordinating schedules, and it often feels like solving a puzzle to create the most effective plan while keeping projects moving forward.

Last question. If you could give one piece of advice to a business owner working with a marketing agency for the first time, what would it be?

Embrace collaboration and delegate where possible. Marketing is most effective when there is input from members of your team who understand different aspects of the business.

By involving the right people and trusting your agency as a strategic partner, you’ll create a stronger, more effective marketing program and achieve better results.

As always, thanks for keeping everything moving forward and congrats on the promotion!

My pleasure!
