Friendly City Food Co-Op

Web Design For A Community-Driven Experience.

When the Friendly City Food Co-op reached out to Estland, they were ready for a web design refresh. They wanted a website to better meet the needs of their growing community of shoppers and owners. Having worked together before on their old website, we understood their needs.

Our goal was to create a modern, intuitive web design that was as welcoming as the Co-op itself.

Creating a Fully Responsive Web Design.

Our design and development teams focused on a mobile-friendly experience to make sure the site works on all devices. We simplified the sitemap to make information easier to find. Now, users can quickly locate details on the Friendly City Food Co-op’s events, products, recipes and hot bar menu in prominent sections of the website.

A key aspect of our approach was implementing ADA compliance features for accessibility. Features like adjustable text size and screen reader support show the Co-op’s commitment to inclusivity.

Optimizing Web Content For Search Engines & Engagement.

Estland also integrated best practices for search engine optimization (SEO) into the new website design and offered content support to their team.  By optimizing keywords, metadata and the site’s structure, the site is more likely to rank higher in search results. This helps more people find local, sustainable products in the Shenandoah Valley.

Showcasing Community Through Authentic Photography & Videography.

Here’s Everything We Did.

Our team went beyond just redesigning the Friendly City Food Co-op’s website. We also coordinated a custom photography and videography shoot featuring real Harrisonburg community members shopping and interacting with products. These visuals add a personal feel to the site and showcase the store’s community spirit. The website became more than just a digital platform. It reflects the Co-op’s commitment to connecting with the people they serve daily.
