Join Our Team – SEO Content Manager
Job Summary
The SEO Content Manager is responsible for creating and implementing content and strategies that boost SEO, drive brand awareness, generate leads, and foster engagement across various marketing channels. This position will collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand their objectives, target markets, and brand identities to develop compelling and relevant content writing with SEO integration for optimal online visibility.
Duties & Responsibilities
Content Writing
- Write messaging guides for client brands
- Create engaging, shareable, well-written content that implements best practices for SEO for a variety of platforms such as:
- Web pages
- Blogs
- E-newsletters
- Social media
- Digital ads
- Print material
- Develop engaging written storyboards and compelling voice over narratives for video and radio productions
- Perform research and client interviews as needed in order to gain information for writing assignments
- Create effective content writing strategies for our clients, measure their success and adjust strategies accordingly to reach goals
- Research content trends and create strategies that capitalize on those trends
- Create content writing for digital campaigns, review success metrics and adjust strategies as needed
SEO Integration
- Perform detailed SEO audits, analyses and keyword research to identify opportunities for growth
- Address and resolve SEO audit findings, track improvements, and document progress
- Develop tailored SEO strategies for clients, track performance, and provide actionable insights and recommendations monthly
- Define and monitor key SEO performance indicators, using data to evaluate the effectiveness of organic SEO initiatives and identify areas for improvement
- Train clients on best practices for creating SEO-optimized web content, ensuring long-term success
Leadership
- Review and proofread your peers as needed to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established messaging guidelines
- Organize and lead routine SEO strategy and planning sessions, as well as, review optimization results with our strategy team and our clients
Project Management
- Demonstrated mastery of our project management systems and processes through proficient utilization of our specialized project management software
- Lead advanced project management tasks that drive creative work to the next stage, meticulously evaluating marketing strategies, and adapting project elements to best align with overarching marketing objectives
- Act as a guiding presence, coaching both internal teams and clients through the intricacies of the creative process
- Execute tasks with exceptional efficiency, ensuring deadlines are consistently met and project timelines are adhered to
- Demonstrate a commitment to producing work of the highest quality that can be billed accurately on an hourly basis
- Deliver accurate and detailed reporting of payroll hours, offering transparent insight into time allocation
- Provide meticulous reporting of billable tasks, ensuring a comprehensive invoicing log
- Execute tasks with precision, adhering closely to detailed directives
- Skillfully manage your work calendar, meticulously organizing tasks and activities. Ensure the calendar remains accurate and up-to-date, benefiting both yourself and fellow Estland team members
Communication
- Foster a collaborative environment by facilitating open communication within clients and team members as well as cross-functional collaboration with other departments
- Creative and constructive collaboration with team members and clients
- Professionalism throughout team member and client interactions
- Synthesize team and client feedback and direction into actionable steps to reach the collaborative goals efficiently and effectively
Estimates & Addendums
- Accurately estimate invoiceable time for tasks and projects
- Develop well written and accurate job addendums when needed
Professional Development
- Participate in on-going professional development opportunities to enhance your skill set
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience as a writer or similar role in a marketing agency or related field
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of content, including blog articles, social media posts, website copy, and other digital marketing materials
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms
- Solid understanding of content marketing principles, SEO best practices, and digital marketing trends
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and experience in publishing and managing content on various platforms
- Creative mindset with the ability to think strategically and develop innovative content ideas
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and clients
- SEMRush experience is a plus
- Google Analytics 4 experience is a plus
Education & Experience
- BFA/BA/BS or equivalent working experience
- Portfolio of writing and content marketing work
- 5+ years of experience with short form and long form content
Credentials, Certificates, Licenses
- Valid Driver’s license required
Work Environment
The SEO Content Management position will be fully-remote, with the ability to work from anywhere, provided satisfactory performance standards are demonstrated. Workspace in our Harrisonburg, VA office is also available. Some travel is required for events and professional development. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are expected.
